Nastassja Swift is a multi-disciplinary artist holding a BFA from VCU. She was the 2021 Summer Artist in Residence with SPACES in Cleveland, where her community parade and exhibition received support from the Ohio Arts Council. In 2019, her short film, and collaborative performance, “Remembering Her Homecoming,” premiered at the Afrikana Independent Film Festival, and screened at the Virginia Film Festival in Charlottesville. She is the recipient of a 2022 VMFA Fellowship, 2021 Dr. Doris Derby Award, the Art Matters 2021 Fellowship Award, the Black Box Press Foundation 2021 Art as Activism Grant, and the 2020 Virginia Commission of the Arts Fellowship.

IN RESIDENCE
Residency length of stay : June 10 2023 - August 5 2023
The STUDIOHOUSE Project Developer Residency is for an artist interested in organizing public programs. This artist will live and work in the house during the summer, creating 3 projects or programs that develop and engage the house and its community. These projects may look like workshops, markets, artist talks, open houses, book signings, concerts, bonfires etc.
The engagements must be mutually nourishing, creative, and communal in nature.
The 2023 Summer Project Developer in Residence will be provided with studio space, a fully funded 2 month STUDIOHOUSE Residency, and an unrestricted honorarium of $500.
